About OchreSoft

OchreSoft Ltd is a privately owned company formed in 2003 out of a research program originating within BPE Solicitors. OchreSoft is an independent software house specialising in the legal application market.

The Intelliworks solution is the result of over seven years of analysis and development in close cooperation with acknowledged legal experts in the field of conveyancing. Intelliworks represents a state of the art system, updated regularly with new features.

Our development team are continually adding best-practice workflows to improve efficiency within legal firms.  Our latest module, Intelliworks Probate, was launched in 2010 following more than 5000 man hours of development and is a comprehensive probate case management solution designed to streamline and automate the probate process.

Our Short History

Our first product known as ICON, was released in 2003, into a market that was mainly used to framework case management systems. ICON set the standard for conveyancing case management by not only providing a massive library of documents but also delivering comprehensive risk management

As a result, we initiated a project to develop a low cost workflow framework that could support the ICON sale, purchase and remortgage applications as well as may other workflows.

We also decided that as the company was doing much more than developing conveyancing applications, it would be more appropriate to change its name to something that didn’t just say conveyancing. The result was that Intelligent Conveyancing became OchreSoft Technologies Ltd in January 2006.

Ochre - A much longer history!

Origin: The word Ochre comes from the Greek word ochros, which means yellow.

Early crayons: Ochre is the oldest colour known to man. Pieces of hematite, worn down as though they had been used as crayons, have been found at 300,000 year old Homo heidelbergensis sites in France and in the Czech and Slovak republics.

A symbol of power: Swazi Chiefs and Priests painted their bodies with a mixture of Red Ochre powder and animal fat believing this gave them great power.

Fe2O3: Yellow Ochre is composed of hydrated iron oxide with a range of mineral impurities, often humus and iron sulfate compounds. It normally has seventeen to twenty four percent iron oxide.
