OchreSoft Technologies announce support for direct SDLT submission in to HMRC
Swindon 31 May 2006 - OchreSoft Technologies have, since the release of Intelliworks in December 2005, been designing and building a ‘total connectivity’ infrastructure which will be known as the Virtual Exchange or VEX. This is a managed transaction service that runs at the data centre and is responsible for handling reliable communications with external organisations. VEX will handle instruction passing for the VirtualFirm and also provide the mechanism to communicate with the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for electronic submission of Stamp Duty Land Tax
(SDLT).
Tony Kenyon, CTO at OchreSoft commented: “VEX will provide the core of our communications strategy going forward. It will be responsible for transmitting and monitoring all transactions with external organisations, and ensuring reliability for cost-sensitive messaging. We are pleased that that HMRC have recognised the first step in our initiative with our SDLT engine, allowing connection into their gateway.”
Further releases of VEX will extend its capabilities to provide integration into search providers, HIP providers and eventually eConveyancing. Clive McCafferty, CEO at OchreSoft commented: “We estimate that, by using the information in our conveyancing workflows and providing the capability to electronically submit the SDLT form, we could save our firms up to thirty minutes per case”.
