Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers are one of the North West’s leading law firms and they believe service to their clients matters across everything they do. They offer a complete range of legal and financial services from three offices in North Manchester. Their aim is to provide practical, professional and supportive legal advice to both private and commercial clients.
Hannah Pearson and Joanne Ormston from Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers shared how their Wills, Trust and Probate team has enhanced its approach to private client work by adopting our Intelliworks service – bringing greater structure, consistency and efficiency to their case management process.
How has Intelliworks made a difference in your day-to-day work?
I use Intelliworks for probate work. It makes the process much more efficient. The case management system captures as much information about an estate at the beginning of the matter as possible, and it can then be easily and quickly updated as details about assets and liabilities comes in.
What specific aspects of the Private Client workflow do you find most helpful?
The estate manager section allows me to see at a glance what information is outstanding, what accounts have been closed, and what liabilities remain to be paid. The fact that estate accounts can be produced automatically makes the whole process much quicker.
Have you noticed any improvements in consistency or client service since adopting Intelliworks?
Yes, consistency has improved as we are all working to standard precedents and procedures. It should also speed up the service provided to clients, for example in the production of estate accounts.
Would you recommend Intelliworks to other firms working on Private Client law? If so, why?
Yes, from a probate point of view, the whole process is much more streamlined with the estate manager section and standardised precedents and the estate accounts are easy to produce. It makes it easier to assist or take on another adviser’s file when required as we all know where to look for key information. On the Wills and LPAs side, again it helps that there are standardised precedents and a clear process to produce documents.
What has been your experience of contacting our Intelliworks Support Team?
We have always found them helpful and keen to implement changes that we have suggested.
How would you describe your experience with our Intelliworks Legal Trainer Johanna during your onboarding and training?
My colleague found Jo very friendly and engaging, she felt at ease asking Jo questions or asking her to go over any part that she struggled with. She was very clear and patient and we would happily attend a session led by her again.
What role does Intelliworks play in helping your firm meet compliance standards and reduce risk?
There are sections to show what ID has been received for beneficiaries. The key dates section is helpful to show inheritance tax/family provision claim deadlines. Having a standard system makes it easier to take on files if fee earners are ill, as mentioned above.
