Meet the team: Rachel Bardell

We’re pleased to introduce Rachel Bardell, Solicitor (Non-Practising) & Legal and Compliance Analyst, in the fourth of our ‘Meet the Team’ interview series.

  • Q: What does your role entail?

I joined the Ochresoft team as a Legal & Compliance Analyst in June 2021. I am a qualified solicitor and, prior to joining Ochresoft, practised in the Private Property team of a top 50 UK law firm. My job is to keep the content available within our Intelliworks conveyancing workflows up to date and best in class. I am responsible for carrying out detailed research into any upcoming changes in legislation, case law, and industry practices, and then appropriately translating those changes into our workflows. My role also involves designing new legal products and features to assist our customers with their transactional work.

  • Q: What do you most enjoy about working at Ochresoft?

The team at Ochresoft is very ambitious and passionate about making our Intelliworks software as good as it possibly can be for the benefit of our customers and the wider property market as a whole. At the same time, there is a great team ethos and focus on wellbeing, which makes it a great place to work.

  • Q: When you are asked to explain what you do for a living, how do you sum-up your role with Ochresoft in one sentence?

I am responsible for creating and maintaining the legal content available within Intelliworks, which is specialist case management software for conveyancing and private client law firms.

  • Q: What do you think are the largest challenges currently facing conveyancers?

I think we can expect to see some enormous changes in the ways that conveyancers work over the next few years. There is a lot of pressure to speed up property transactions by addressing inefficiencies in current conveyancing procedures and embracing new technological advancements to streamline the processes and mitigate the risks involved. There is also a focus across the industry on improving transparency and communication, to ensure that consumers receive good quality advice throughout the home buying and selling process.

  • Q: What do you believe is the key reason conveyancing customers enjoy using Intelliworks?

For many of our customers in practice, client demands and heavy workloads mean it can be difficult to find the time to keep up to date with upcoming changes in the law and best practice. Our specialist conveyancing workflows available via Intelliworks are designed by lawyers for lawyers, and so our customers can have confidence knowing that our content is continually reviewed and updated.
